Our Policies

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time or call you in advance to alert you of any delays.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations or vaccine titers be up to date. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Care Credit, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Debit cards, cash and personal checks.

We impose a 3% surcharge on the transaction amount of all credit card products, which is not greater than our cost of acceptance. We do not impose a surcharge on Debit, cash or personal checks.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. Please lock all extension leashes so that you have better control of your dog.

All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Privacy Policy

We do not collect or give out any information to any third party vendors or internet businesses.  No information will ever be disclosed to outside parties from us or our web site hosting company.

It’s that simple! And we strictly adhere to this policy.

Jockey Hollow Veterinary Practice recognizes the importance of protecting the personal privacy of its clients, its patients and those individuals who simply visit our site.

Your privacy is also protected in our hospital.  At no time is any information given out about the client or the pet without the consent of the owner.

Anxious Pet Policy

Veterinary visits can be stressful.

At the Jockey Hollow Veterinary Practice we believe that reducing stress makes the visit easier for our clients and safer for our patients.

The Chill Protocol is a combination of medications that can help reduce fear, anxiety, and aggressive behavior. By using these medications we can more safely exam, draw blood and perform non-invasive procedures without full sedation or general anesthesia.
Please let us know if your pet is anxious. We can help.
